University of Arkansas at MonticelloThe University of Arkansas at Monticello was established in 1909 by act 100 of the Arkansas General Assembly. The school opened its doors for classes on September 14, 1910. Known originally as the Fourth District Agricultural School, UAM became Arkansas A&M College in 1928 and merged with the University of Arkansas on July 1, 1971.
